Product Description

HS-EPOXY 5490 is a two-component high build epoxy glass flake paint. The product has a hard film, excellent

abrasion resistance and excellent corrosion barrier properties. Has excellent resistance to fresh water/sea water,

acid, alkali and chemical corrosion and oil resistance.

Product Usage

HS-EPOXY 5490 epoxy glass flake paint can be used in strong corrosive environments such as industrial

atmosphere and immersion, used in bridges, petrochemicals, seaports, power facilities, industrial machinery,

equipment and other new steel structures under strong corrosive environments and maintenance of anti-corrosion.

Solid content (volume), % : 78±2%  (depending on color)

Density: 1.6- 1.7kg/l (depending  on color)

Surface Treatment

The painted surface should be clean, dry and free from contamination. Surface evaluation and cleaning standards

refer to ISO8504. Cleaning of oil and grease should refer to standard SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.

Sand Blasting

Grit   blasting  to   Sa   2½.   (ISO   8501- 1:2007)   or   SSPC-SP6   (or  SSPC-SP10  for  better   results).

Shop Primed Surface

This product can be used on uncorroded inorganic zinc silicate shop primer surface. Before painting, the weld

seam and damaged area should be blasted to Sa 2½ (ISO 8501- 1:2007) SSPC-SP6 (or SSPC-SP10 for better

effect. Good), but if the shop primer peels off in a large area or there is serious corrosion, the overall sand blasting

and rust removal treatment must be carried out.

Repair of Damaged / Corroded Areas

Damaged areas can be conditionally sandblasted to Sa 2½. (ISO 8501- 1:2007) for best results. If the repaired

area  cannot be sandblasted, mechanical grinding to St3 (ISO 8501- 1:2007) level is allowed to remove the floating

rust  layer on the surface. After the surface treatment is completed, it is repaired according to the order of

matching.

It  should  be  applied  to  the  metal  surface  according  to  the  anti-corrosion  package  recommended  by  Haisun

Technology.  Before construction, ensure that the painted surface is dry and free of pollution, and must be applied

within the specified  recoating interval (refer to the relevant product manual).

Store

Storage period (from the production date): main paint: 12 months (25°C)

curing agent: 12 months (25°C)

Must be stored in accordance with national regulations. The product should be stored tightly in a dry, cool,  well-

ventilated warehouse, away from heat and fire. Excessive heat will shorten shelf life and may cause  paint to gel

inside the can. The above is the shortest shelf life, after which it must be tested to determine  whether it can

continue to be used.

• Use this product in a well-ventilated area and avoid skin contact. If it accidentally splashes on the skin,  wash it off with appropriate detergent or soap and water immediately.
• If the eyes come into  contact with  this product, rinse with clean water immediately and go to the hospital for examination.

• During the construction process, naked flames, welding and smoking are not allowed, and must be kept good ventilation.
